Marta Kostyuk is an Ukranian tennis player, who is ranked No. 19 in singles and No. 64 in doubles, as of August 2024. The 22-year-old's best Grand Slam performance was recorded at the 2024 Australian Open, where she advanced to the quarterfinal. She finished semifinalist at the 2024 French Open and the 2023 Australian Open in doubles with Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Kostyuk reached her second WTA 500 final at the 2024 Stuttgart Open, registering a win over Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals.

She registered her first top-5 win of the season by defeating Jessica Pegula in the semifinals of the 2024 San Diego Open. She reached her maiden WTA 1000 quarterfinals at the 2024 Indian Wells. Kostyuk has won one WTA singles and two WTA doubles titles, as of August 2024. She is characterized by an aggressive playing style and plays an all-court game with a powerful serve. Kostyuk has represented Ukraine at the Billie Jean King Cup in 2018-19 and 2021/22 with a win-loss record of 10-4.

Kostyuk started playing tennis when she was five and was coached by her mother, Talina Kostyuk. She used to train at the Antey Tennis Club, located on the west side of Kyiv. She was also trained by her maternal uncle, Taras Beiko, who played tennis for USSA and Ukraine. In junior year, she won the Orange Bowl, followed by winning Petits As in both singles and doubles categories.

Kostyuk became the youngest Ukrainian player to win an ITF tournament without dropping a set. She achieved the career-high junior ranking of No. 2 in October 2017. She made her major debut at the Australian Open and defeated Peng Shuai in the first round. With the win, she became the youngest player to win her major match since Martina Hingis in 1996.
