His return trip was a protracted and uncertain one. As an amateur, he only accomplished a little after returning to France. He didn't compete for any national teams or take home any championships. At twenty years old, he was the 890th-ranked amateur in the world and an afterthought in French golf when he decided to forgo college and become a professional.

Shortly after becoming a pro, he almost gave up on the sport because of chipping yips. He won the Open International de Rebetz in his first season after joining the Alps Tour in 2014. He repeated as champion the following year, and at qualifying school, he obtained a spot on the 2016 European Challenge Tour. There, too, he had quick success, placing sixth in the season-ending standings to secure a spot on the DP World Tour.

However, he didn't achieve that degree of accomplishment until 2023. For the next seven years, he played steady but unremarkable golf and was able to keep his spot on the DP World Tour.

In 2014 and 2015, Pavon participated in the Alps Tour following his professional debut. 2014 saw him win the Open International de Rebetz, while 2015 saw him win the Servizitalia Open. He advanced to the European Tour Q School finals in 2015 and was selected for the 2016 Challenge Tour.

Despite not winning on the 2016 Challenge Tour, Pavon placed second three times, including in the Foshan Open, Turkish Airlines Challenge, and Montecchia Golf Open. He was unable to make the cut after rounds of 74 and 78. Pavon finished 89th in the Order of Merit after having less success on the 2018 European Tour.

At the end of 2017, he tied for fifth place at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open; his only other top-10 result came from the Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open. He made it to his first US Open qualifier. He opened with a 71 and, despite a second-round 77, managed to make the cut, coming in tied for 25th position.

At the Acciona Open de España in October 2023, Pavon won his first competition on the European Tour. He won by four strokes with a final score of 261 (23 under par). After placing 15th in the Race to Dubai at the end of the 2023 European Tour season, he was granted membership in the PGA Tour for the 2024 season. He defeated Nicolai Højgaard by one stroke to win the Farmers Insurance Open in January 2024.

After Arnaud Massy's 1907 Open Championship victory (later regarded as a PGA Tour victory), he became the first Frenchman to win on the PGA Tour with this victory. He placed third at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California in February. He placed at -15, two shots behind champion Wyndham Clark, and earned $1.36 million in prize money.
