Initial Days (2003-2008)

Nick Aldis started his wrestling career at 16 and appeared on Dropkixx Wrestling (DKW). Before joining TNA, he competed primarily in All-Star Wrestling and the World Association of Wrestling. He participated in notable matches against champions like Brett Meadows and Marty Scurll. Aldis won against Scurll in his last match in England.

TNA (2008-2015)

Early Years (2008-2009)

In 2008, Nick Aldis signed with TNA and debuted as Brutus Magnus, a modern-day gladiator. He made his in-ring debut in 2009 and beat Shark Boy. Aldis also had triumphed over Chris Sabin at Against All Odds and Eric Young at Destination X as a heel character.

The British Invasion (2009–2011)

Nick Aldis, as Brutus Magnus, formed The British Invasion in 2009 with Doug Williams and Rob Terry. They came out on top for the IWGP Tag Team Title and later the TNA World Tag Team Title at Bound for Glory. After losing the TNA titles in 2010, the group disbanded when Terry betrayed them. Aldis briefly rebranded himself and adopted a new gimmick. He formed the tag team London Brawling with Desmond Wolfe. However, Wolfe's medical halted their momentum.

In late 2010, Nick Aldis reunited with Douglas Williams to reform The British Invasion, but their initial matches as a team were unsuccessful. They turned face in mid-2011 and added Rob Terry back to the group. They participated in a feud with Mexican America but failed to win the TNA World Tag Team Title. Meanwhile, Aldis won the Xplosion Title Challenge competition which procured him a title opportunity of his choice.

Tag Team and feud with Samoa Joe (2011–2012)

In 2011, Aldis teamed with Samoa Joe and won the Wild Card Competition. They later caught the TNA World Tag Team Title from Crimson and Matt Morgan at Against All Odds in 2012. The duo successfully defended their titles against multiple teams, including The Motor City Machine Guns and Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson.

Aldis and Joe lost the titles to Christopher Daniels and Kazarian at Sacrifice. Aldis then entered the 2012 Bound for Glory Series but was eliminated and turned heel after attacking Joe, who defeated him in the tournament. At Bound for Glory, Aldis unsuccessfully challenged Joe for the TNA Television Title.

The New Main Event Mafia (2012–2013)

Aldis reignited his fight with Samoa Joe in late 2012 and lost a rematch for the TNA Television Title at Turning Point. He returned as a fan favorite in 2013, defeated Bad Influence, and joined Team TNA to defeat Aces and Eights at Lockdown. Afterward, he qualified for the 2013 Bound for Glory Series, where he initially took the lead but lost to A.J. Styles in the finals. During the competition, Aldis joined the reformed Main Event Mafia alongside Sting, Kurt Angle, and Samoa Joe. He then feuded with Bad Influence and Bobby Roode which prompted a match against Sting at Bound for Glory, where Aldis got a major triumph.

World Championship (2013–2014)

Aldis entered a competition for the empty TNA World Heavyweight Title in late 2013. He beat Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy to bring home the championship in a Dixieland match on Impact Wrestling: Final Resolution. He turned heel by lining up with Team Dixie and controversially beat A.J. Styles in a title unification match to turn into the undisputed champion.

Aldis ended Sting's TNA career by defeating him in a no-disqualification championship match. He successfully defended the title against Samoa Joe at Lockdown and against Joe, Eric Young, and Abyss. However, in 2014, Eric Young won a gauntlet match and defeated Aldis the same night to claim the title, with Magnus losing again in a rematch at Sacrifice.

Later Days (2014-2015)

After losing to Eric Young, Aldis fell into a losing streak. This prompted the appearance of his childhood friend Bram, who urged him to take on a more aggressive persona. Aldis aligned with Bram and turned heel, and together they fought with Willow and Abyss. They triumphed at Slammiversary XII and in a Monster's Ball match. Aldis later turned face after a betrayal by Bram, who attacked him and threatened Aldis' life partner, Mickie James. Aldis defeated Bram in a No Disqualification match to end their rivalry.

He then entered a storyline with James Storm, who manipulated Mickie James toward reconsidering her retirement. Their feud escalated after Magnus attacked Storm with a guitar. Storm defeated Aldis at Slammiversary XIII, but Aldis and Mickie later won in a mixed tag team match. In 2015, TNA reported Aldis' departure after spending eight years with the company.

Pro Wrestling Noah (2012)

In 2012, Aldis debuted on Pro Wrestling Noah. He teamed with Samoa Joe to win the GHC Tag Team title by defeating Akitoshi Saito and Jun Akiyama. They lost the titles to KENTA and Maybach Taniguchi in their first defense.

Global Force Wrestling (2015–2017)

In 2015, Nick Aldis signed with Global Force Wrestling (GFW). He defeated Tommaso Ciampa during the Grand Slam Tour. He came out on top for the GFW Global Title tournament by defeating Bobby Roode in the finals to turn into the inaugural champion. Aldis held the title for 547 days and lost it to Alberto El Patrón.

Return to TNA (2017)

In 2017, Nick Aldis returned to Impact Wrestling under the Magnus ring name. He joined Team Jeremy Borash in a feud against Team Josh Mathews and triumphed over Bram in his return match. As the GFW Global Champion, Aldis defended the title against Matt Morgan but lost it to Alberto El Patrón. Following tensions with Ethan Carter III and James Storm, Aldis participated in a triple-threat match for a shot at the Impact World Title but was defeated. Aldis rejected an agreement from Anthem because of inadequate financial remuneration and creative challenges.

National Wrestling Alliance (2017–2022)

Nick Aldis debuted for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood in 2017 and won the NWA World Heavyweight Title from Tim Storm. He started a mission called "The Aldis Crusade," and defended the title globally, including a major defense against Colt Cabana in China.

Aldis lost the title to Cody Rhodes at All In in 2018 however recaptured it at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show. He successfully defended it against challengers like James Storm and Marty Scurll before losing it to Trevor Murdoch at the NWA 73rd Anniversary Show following a 1,043-day reign in 2021. Aldis requested a release from NWA in 2022.

Another Return to TNA (2023)

After leaving the NWA, Nick Aldis returned to Impact Wrestling. He turned into the main competitor for the Impact World Title but was defeated by Alex Shelley at Slammiversary. Aldis lost his last match with the promotion to Eric Young which marked the end of his tenure with Impact.

WWE (2023- Present)

In 2023, Nick Aldis started working with WWE as a backstage producer and after two months he was presented by Triple H as the new on-screen general manager of SmackDown.
