Nicolas Mahut: A Brief Biography
Nicolas Pierre Armand Mahut is a French tennis player who prefers grass court tennis. He is often paired with his fellow Frenchman doubles partner Julien Benneteau. He started playing at a very young age, showing raw talent fromthe beginnig. He won the Orange Bowl in 1999 and the Wimbledon Boys\' Singles in 2000, turning professional the same year. He was a runner-up to Andy Roddick at the 2007 Queen\'s Club Championships, having held a championship point in the second-set tiebreak. In 2003, He was the winner of the Open de Moselle in doubles in Metz, France. for two years in a row and a semifinalist of the U.S. Open with Benneteau in doubles. After a rather dry spell, Mahut won the Challenger level tournament in Orléans, France, after beating Christophe Rochus. His victory in the Challenger circuit in Cherbourg pushed him into the world\'s top 200. At the 2012 Queen\'s Club Championships, Mahut eliminated Andy Murray, the defending champion, tagging it as one of the best victories of his career.
