Raquel Rodriguez

Victoria Gonzalez is an American professional wrestler. She is currently signed by the WWE under the ring name Raquel Rodriguez and performs on RAW. She is a former three-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, two-time and inaugural NXT Women's Tag Team Champion and a former NXT Women's Champion.

Early Life

Gonzalez a.k.a Raquel Rodriguez was born on 12th January 1991 in La Feria, Texas, and is of Mexican Descent. During her high school and then college, Rodriguez was a basketball player where she played collegiately for the Texas A&M–Kingsville Javelinas. She continued her basketball career at Sam Houston University before switching over to pro wrestling.

Professional Wrestling Career

Enhancement Talent & Mae young Classic (2016-18)

On October 25, 2016, Gonzalez was signed with the company and headed to the performance centre. She took part in the first-ever Mae Young Classic, and she lost in the first round. Gonzalez competed once again at the Mae Young Classic and lost again in the very beginning. She spent her early years wrestling as an enhancement of talent and extras on television.

Dakota Kai & Rivalry with Rhea Ripley (2020-2021)

On February 16, 2020, at NXT TakeOver: Portland, Gonzalez returned to the TV and aided Dakota Kai to win over Tegan Nox in a street fight. Gonzalez become Dakota Kai's bodyguard and aided her throughout 2020.

After NXT Takeover XXX, Gonzalez kicked off her rivalry with Rhea Ripley. Gonzalez and Rhea faced each other in a series of matches that concluded at New Year's Evil. Gonzalez defeated Rhea in a last woman standing match. Rhea left NXT for the main roster.

Gonzalez entered the WarGames match alongside Dakota Kai, Candice LeRae and Toni Storm to face Ember Moon, Io Shirai, Shotzi Blackheart and Rhea Ripley. Gonzalez's team emerged victoriously and Rhea Ripley left NXT for the main roster.

Championships & Rivalry with Dakota

Gonzalez and Dakota took part in the inaugural Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, where they defeated Shotzi and Ember to win the cup. They received a women's tag team title match, which ended in controversy. Next week, they crowned the duo as the first NXT Women's Tag Team Champions, only to lose to the runner-up of the Tag Team Classic, Ember and Shotzi.

On the first night of Takeover Stand & Deliver, Gonzalez beat Io Shirai to win the NXT Women's title. During her reign, she defeated Mercedes Martinez, Xia Li, Ember Moon, Shotzi Blackheart and Dakota Kai. She lost the title to Mandy Rose at Halloween Havoc when Dakota Kai interfered. At WarGames 2021, Team Gonzalez beat Team Dakota.

In 2022, Gonzalez teamed up with Cora Jade and entered the women's Dusty Rhodes Classic and lost. After reuniting with Dakota Kai, they challenged Toxic Attraction. At Stand and Deliver, Kai and Gonzalez defeated Toxic Attraction to win the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship. On NXT after WrestleMania 38, they lost the titles back to Toxic Attraction.

Main Roster (2022-Present)

Gonzalez was moved to the main roster in 2022 and was re-named Raquel Rodriguez. She would go on to face Ronda Rousey a couple of times for the SmackDown Women's Championship but failed to grab the gold. On the August 29th episode of RAW, Rodriguez and Aliyah defeated Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai to become the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. On the September 12, 2022, episode of RAW, Sky and Kai defeated Aliyah and Rodriguez to become the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions bringing an end to Rodriguez's first main roster title run.

She entered her first Royal Rumble match in 2023 and eliminated Nia Jax, Lacey Evans and Piper Niven before being eliminated by Rhea Ripley, the eventual winner of the match. She then teamed up with Liv Morgan at WrestleMania in the Women's Tag Team Showdown, which was won by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

On April 10 episode of RAW, Morgan and Rodriguez defeated Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch to become the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. They were then drafted to RAW but had to vacate their titles after Morgan got injured. After Morgan returned to WWE, the two faced then-champions Rousey and Baszler at Money in the Bank, where they regained the title after Baszler betrayed Rousey. They, however, lost the title on July 17 episode of RAW to Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green after Rhea Ripley injured Rodriguez's knee.

Rodriguez then went on a brief hiatus before returning and challenging Ripley for her Women's World Championship. The match was subsequently officiated and took place at Payback 2023 where she failed to beat Ripley. She got a rematch for the title on the September 11 episode of SmackDown but could not defeat Ripley once again after an interference from Nia Jax. Frustrated, she demanded another rematch for the title at Crown Jewel 2023 and so did Nia Jax. The list grew longer as Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler demanded a title match too. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce solved the doubts by giving the title match to each one of them, asking Ripley to defend her gold in a Five-Way match.

Rodriguez is currently dating fellow WWE Superstar Adam Scherr who fans might know better by his ring name Braun Stromwman. Raquel Rodriguez's boyfriend made his return to the company on RAW in September 2022.

Adam Scherr was born on September 6, 1983, in North Carolina, USA. He had a pretty good Strongman career in 2011 and 2012 before joining the WWE in 2013. He made his debut in 2015 as a member of the Wyatt Family and shocked the world with his sheer size and athletics. He was a force to be reckoned with and went head-to-head with the likes of The Big Show, Demon Kane, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Triple H, and more. He won the WWE Tag Team Titles in 2018 with Nicholas, and made the latter the youngest ever champion in WWE history at 10. He also won the only edition of the Greatest Royal Rumble that year, followed by winning the Men's Money in the Bank briefcase. He also won the Intercontinental Championship and the Universal Championship in WWE.
