Sam Querrey: A Brief Biography
Sam Austin Querrey is a professional American tennis player from California who currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. He holds the Open Era record for most consecutive service aces, with 10 in a 2007 match against James Blake He usually partner up with fellow American and tennis player John Isner. In 2006, Querrey became the first player to win a challenger event in his pro debut after winning Yuba City and Winnetka challengers. In 2008, Querrey won his first ATP level tournament at the Tennis Channel Open in Las Vegas beating Kevin Anderson of South Africa at the Finals. The following year, he defeated no. 1 seeded Tommy Haas to advance to the final of the LA Tennis Open and crushed Carsten Ball in the final to earn his only title of the year. In the Queens Club in London, Querry beat fellow American Mardy Fish in the final of the AEGON Championships in 2010, making him the only player besides Rafael Nadal to win at least three titles. In 2012, Querrey defeated Ricardas Berankis at the Farmers Classic for his third Los Angeles title in four years.
