Tyson Kidd: A Brief Biography

Theodore James "TJ" Wilson is a retired Canadian professional wrestler and producer signed with WWE. He is best known for his work with WWE as Tyson Kidd. He is a former two-time WWE Tag Team Champion.

Personal Life

Theodore Wilson was born on July 11, 1980, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Since he was ten, Kidd has been close to the Hart Family as he has been a friend of Teddy Hart and Harry Smith. He has also revealed that he is very close friends with Claudio Castagnoli, better known as Cesaro in WWE. The two were tag team partners in WWE.

Kidd had been dating the Hart family's Natalya Neidhart since 2001, and the duo married in June 2013. Their relationship and wedding was also featured at the WWE show Total Divas.

Professional Wrestling Career

Early Years (1995-2006)

Wilson finished his training at the Hart Dungeon and began wrestling for Stampede Wrestling. Wilson has wrestled for several years on the independent circuit and traveled across Europe and Japan to wrestle for various promotions. Wilson worked for several promotions, such as NJPW, AWA, MLW, and GCW, before signing with WWE.

WWE (2006-Present)

Developmental, The Hart Dynasty and NXT (2006-2014)

After signing with WWE, Wilson began working for FCW. He went by Tyson Kidd and teamed up with Davey Boy Smith. The duo dominated the developmental territories before moving to the main roster. In 2009, they were called up and moved to ECW. In June, they were traded to SmackDown. At Bragging Rights, they joined Team SmackDown and defeated Team RAW.

At WrestleMania XXVI, they assisted Bret Hart to defeat Vince McMahon. At Extreme Rules, they defeated The Show-Miz to win the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. After 146 days and the championships being changed to WWE Tag Team Championship, The Hart Dynasty lost to Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. After losing the titles, Kidd turned on Smith and defeated him with the help of Ezekiel Jackson.

In 2012, Kidd went to NXT and began his single's career. Kidd became Lucky Cannon's pro but failed to win the show. Kidd spent several months between 2012-2014 in NXT. Kidd switched between brands and chased for championship gold but was unsuccessful. In 2014, Kidd had a successful run on NXT, where he was often involved in championship matches and TakeOver events.

Teaming up with Cesaro, Retirement, and Producer (2014-Present)

In November, Kidd and Cesaro began teaming up. In 2015, they became a cohesive unit and won several matches. At Fastlane, they won the WWE Tag Team Championship by defeating The Usos. The team lost the title to The New Day at Extreme Rules.

In June, Kidd went back to NXT. During a dark match on RAW, Kidd was injured and out of action for months. After a while, Kidd announced to be out for a year. In 2016, Kidd announced his retirement due to his neck injury. In 2017, WWE hired Kidd as a producer for their shows.
