The Detroit Tigers team seems to have been established in 1894 in Michigan. The organization came about as a Western League member in the same year. The team’s first owner was George Vanderbeck. The owner build the team its first home stadium named Bennett Park. The Tigers were a part of the Western League from 1894 to 1900. The team became a part of the American League in 1901 and became a part of AL Division in 1969. It was part of the AL East Division until 1997. Then in 1998, the Tigers became a part of the AL Central Division and has been there ever since.

The Detroit Tigers currently call Comerica Park its home. It has been the team's home since 2000. The Comerica Park can hold approximately 41,083 spectors in capacity. The ballpark opened in April 2000 and is located in Downtown Detroit. Before that the Tigers had four other stadiums that they called home. The total construction cost of the stadium is $300 million ($510 if we measure it by taking into account inflation).

These were Tiger Stadium, Burns Park, Bennett Park, and Boulevard Park. The Detroit Tigers called Boulevard Park its first home stadium from 1894 to 1895. The team then called Bennett Park its home stadium from 1896 to 1911. The Tigers called Burns Park its home stadium from 1901 to 1902. Lastly, the Tigers called the Tiger Stadium its home from 1903 to 1999.
