The Los Angeles Dodgers are an American Baseball team in Major League Baseball. The team is also widely known by its nicknames ‘The Dodgers’ and ‘The Blue Crew’. Los Angeles Dodgers is a team based in Los Angeles, USA. The team was established in 1883 in Brooklyn. They were known as the Brooklyn Grays. They had many names before settling on the current name. The team changed their name to Los Angeles Dodgers in 1958.

The Los Angeles Dodgers team was established in 1883. The unofficial team used to go by varying names that had some relation to the Brooklyn word in it. It wasn't until January 1932 that the Dodgers finally came into existence. The name was chosen by sports writers. The team has names such as Brooklyn Robins, Brooklyn Trolley Dodgers, Brooklyn Superbas, Brooklyn Bridegrooms, Brooklyn Grooms, Brooklyn Bridegrooms, Brooklyn Grays, Brooklyn Atlantics, and Brooklyn Grays. The team changed its name to what it is now in 1958 as per Baseball Reference. The Los Angeles Dodger back then known as the Brooklyn Atlantics entered the American Association in 1884 and stayed there till 1889. In 1890, the team entered the National League and then in 1969, it became a part of the West Division of the National League. Which the team is still part of.

The Los Angeles Dodgers finished first in the National League’s West Division in 2023. Similarly, they finished first in the same category in 2022. However, in 2021, the team finished 2nd in the NL West Division. The team has been finishing 1st dating back to the 2013 season. The team’s performance in the NL Division worsened in 2010, 2011, and 2012 where the team ranked 4th, 3rd, and 2nd respectively.
