Mumbai Indians Women is one of the five Women's Premier League (WPL) franchises. Also known as MI-W, the team is owned by Reliance Industries, which also owns the Mumbai Indians.
The team is led by Harmanpreet Kaur, who is also the skipper of the Indian national women’s team.
History
The Mumbai Indians Women is the most successful franchise in the brief history of the Women’s Premier League. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led unit became the inaugural champions in 2023, defeating the Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals Women in the summit clash.
Last year, the Mumbai-based franchise managed to reach the knockout stages but was eventually eliminated from the tournament by the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in the Eliminator.
Two years on from their monumental triumph, Harmanpreet and Co. scripted history on March 15, 2025, when they defeated the Capitals in the final to clinch their second WPL title.
