Oregon Ducks Football Team Rivals

Oregon State

Rivalry Name: Oregon–Oregon State football rivalry

The game between Oregon and Oregon State used to be called the "Oregon Classic" or the "State Championship Game." From 1929 to 2020, it was known as the "Civil War." This is the seventh-oldest rivalry in Division I FBS football. Oregon had an 8-game winning streak in the rivalry, which tied for the longest streak in its history until it lost in 2016. From 1959 to 1961, the winner got the Platypus Trophy.

Washington

Rivalry Name: Oregon–Washington football rivalry

The rivalry between Oregon and Washington started in 1900. The series has seen particularly bad behavior from fans of both teams. Washington used to dominate, but since 1994, Oregon has won 18 out of 24 games. From 2004 to 2015, Oregon won 12 games in a row by an average of 24 points, the longest streak in the rivalry. This streak was broken in 2016.

Northwest Championship

Rivalry Name: Northwest Championship

Oregon wins the Northwest Championship by beating Washington, Washington, and Oregon State in the same season. These four teams have been playing against each other in a round-robin format since 1903.

Saint Mary's

Rivalry Name: Governors' Trophy Game

Oregon and Saint Mary's College used to play a game on Thanksgiving Day every year from 1929 to 1935 at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. The winner received The Governors' Perpetual Trophy, given by the governors of California and Oregon. Saint Mary's won 7 out of the 10 games and still has the trophy. This rivalry is unlikely to continue because Saint Mary's stopped playing football in 1951 due to the Korean War.
