Alex de Minaur, also popularly known as Speed Demon, was born on February 17, 1999, in Sydney, Australia, to Anibal and Esther de Minaur. He achieved his career-best ranking of World No. 6 in July 2024, and became the first Australian to make it to the world's top 10 since Lleyton Hewitt in 2006.
De Minaur started the 2024 season in fine style at the 2024 United Cup, registering wins against Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, and Taylor Fritz.
