Monte-Carlo Masters 2024 Introduction

Monte Carlo Masters 2024 is an outdoor tennis tournament that is also popular with the name Rolex Monte Carlo Masters. It is one of the nine ATP 1000 events that is held annually in Roquebrune Cap Martin, France. The 117th edition of Monte Carlo Masters will commence from April 8, 2024, to April 14, 2024.

Rolex is sponsoring the tournament for the 15th time. David Massey is the director of the tournament. One of the three clay court ATP Masters tournaments, the Monte Carlo Masters will have 56 players in a single category and 28 teams in the doubles category. All the matches of the tournament include the best of three sets with a break in each set.

The tournament winner in the singles and doubles categories will be awarded 1000 points. The total prize money for the tournament will be €5,950,575. Many big and popular names will compete in the tournament, including Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, and eleven-time champion Rafael Nadal.

Monte-Carlo Masters History

The Monte Carlo Masters was first held in April 1896 and played on the red clay courts of the Lawn Tennis de Monte Carlo underneath the Grand Hotel de Paris until 1905. George Whiteside Hillyard won the first edition. The tournament became an Open tennis event in 1969 and became part of the Rothmans Spring Mediterranean Circuit in 1973.

In 1990, it became the ATP Championship Series Single Week event, also known as the Masters event. Last year, Andrey Rublev lifted the trophy in the singles category, defeating Holger Rune in the final. Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek won the doubles draw of the tournament.

Rafael Nadal has won the eleven Monte Carlo Masters titles, including winning eight consecutive titles between 2005 and 2012. Gorden Francis Lowe is the oldest champion of the tournament. The Bryan brothers have won the tournament the most number of times in the doubles category.

The Monte Carlo Masters is scheduled from April 8, 2024, to April 14, 2024. The qualifying matches will begin on April 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. local time. The doubles final will be played on April 14, 2024, at noon, followed by the singles final at 3 pm.

Monte Carlo Masters will take place at the Monte Carlo Country Club in Roquebrune-Martin, France. The club is billed as Monte Carlo, Monaco and has a seating capacity of 10,200.
