Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune is a rising star in tennis who is ranked No. 15 as of August 2024 and achieved the career-high ranking of No. 4 by the ATP. He has won four ATP singles titles, including the 2022 Paris Masters, where he defeated world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in three sets in the final.

Rune reached the semifinal of the 2024 Cincinnati Open before losing to Frances Tiafoe in three sets. He played his longest quarterfinals - three-and-a-half hours - at the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters against Grigor Dimitrov.
