Rune was born in Gentofte, Denmark, on April 29, 2003. Anders Nodskov and Aneke Rune are his parents. He started his tennis career at six after watching his sister play the sport. When he was young, he used to play various sports, including soccer/football, but later decided to pursue tennis. He started his junior career on a high note by becoming the 2014 Danish U12 winner with Clara Tauson in mixed doubles. Rune's triumphs continued as he emerged victorious at the European U14 singles championship and the 2019 French Open boys' singles title.
