Since turning professional in 2016, Australian tennis player Max Purcell has won eight ATP doubles titles to date, including the 2024 ATP Houston Open, the 2024 Los Cabos Open and the 2024 Dallas Open. His best grand slam performance includes winning the 2022 Wimbledon with partner Matthew Ebden. He has also reached the doubles finals at the Australian Open twice, in 2020 and 2022.

With Jordan Thompson, Purcell upset No. 1 Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers in the quarterfinals of the 2024 US Open, advancing to the semifinals. He lifted the trophy of his second Grand Slam title at the US Open, with Thompson defeating Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz in the final. Purcell reached the semifinal of the 2024 Nitto ATP Finals in doubles, with Thompsom losing to Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz despite winning the first set.

Purcell is yet to win a singles title, but broke into the top 40 in singles after reaching his first Masters quarterfinal in the 2023 season. At the 2023 Western & Southern Open, he registered his first win against a then top-10 player Casper Ruud.

Purcell also helped his country reach the final of the 2022 Davis Cup, where Team Australia lost to Canada in the final. He is known for his excellent serve-and-volley game. He reached his first ATP singles final at the 2024 Eastbourne International losing to Taylor Fritz in the final.
