Haddad Maia is the first female player from Brazil, who entered the top 10 in the WTA rankings, he achieved this feat in June 2023. She has won four WTA singles, titles in her career so far, including the Korea Open (2024), WTA Elite Trophy (2023), Nottingham Open (2022), and Birmingham Classic (2022).

Her best performance in a grand slam singles event came at the 2023 French Open, where she reached the semifinal, becoming the first Brazilian woman tennis player to reach the semifinals at the French Open in the Open Era. She reached the quarterfinal of the 2024 Madrid Open, where she lost to Iga Swiatek. She reached the quarterfinal of the 2024 US Open, defeating Caroline Wozniacki in the fourth round.

Haddad Maia emerged victorious at the 2024 Korea Open, defeating Daria Kasatkina in the final by 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. At the 2024 Ningbo Open, she sealed a spot in the quarterfinal but lost to Paula Badosa. She and Laura Siegemund were defeated by the duo of Guo Hanyu and Alexandra Panova at the 2025 Brisbane International finals.

Haddad Maia is also a brilliant doubles player, and has won six WTA doubles titles, in her career so far, including the 2023 Madrid Open, and the 2023 WTA Elite Trophy. She also made the Australian Open final in doubles in 2022.
