"Come be the next Heisman!": Fans react as Coach Prime's Colorado Buffaloes offers scholarship to elite 2026 Class athlete

Coach Prime's Colorado Buffaloes are the latest program to extend a scholarship offer to the top athlete of the 2026 class, Brandon Arrington. On Monday, Arrington announced the reception of the offer on X.

“Honored and blessed to say I received my 37th Division I scholarship to the University of Colorado.”

The announcement received several reactions from college football fans on the platform. A Colorado fan, @Buffstoptroll, is eager for Arrington to commit to the Buffs and do exploits like Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.

“Come be the next Heisman!”

Another Colorado fan urged the five-star prospect to visit Boulder, commenting,

“Come check out Boulder!”

In another reference to Hunter and his Heisman Trophy victory, another fan wrote,

“5 CB/ATH? Think someone else made that choice a few years ago and it worked out pretty well.”

However, a USC fan claimed that the offer notwithstanding, Arrington is a fan of the Trojans. They wrote,

“Congrats... but we know you're a Trojan.”
"This the move. 🔥🥷🏾," another fan wrote.

What could Coach Prime and the Buffaloes get from a potential Brandon Arrington enrollment?

Brandon Arrington is a two-way athlete, providing versatility in offense and defense. The wide receiver/cornerback will not be a strange case for Coach Prime, who has successfully groomed Travis Hunter into a Heisman Trophy winner. Therefore, getting on the trail for his recruitment is more of a calculated move than a random time-wasting action.

Arrington is 6-foot-2 tall and weighs 180 pounds. He's a consensus top-50 prospect in the 2026 class, with the On3 Industry Ranking putting him at No. 1 among athletes in that class. The five-star talent from Spring Valley, California, is easily one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2026 class. He has at least 36 Division 1 offers under his belt.

In addition to the Colorado Buffaloes, Arrington has been offered by Texas A&M, USC, Oklahoma and San Diego State. Therefore, Coach Prime's Colorado faces stiff competition in landing the incredible prospect. However, competing with top programs for top talents is not exactly new to Deion Sanders, even before he got his first job in Division I.

Travis Hunter, arguably his biggest player, flipped from Florida State to Jackson State to play for Coach Prime. Julian Lewis also ignored his earlier pledge to the LSU Tigers. While Arrington's recruitment is still a long way ahead, with Sanders in charge, the Buffs can compete with any college program in the ensuing race.
