2025 class five-star CB commit DJ Pickett to take LSU visit for Week 4 game against UCLA: REPORT

Maliha

Five-star cornerback DJ Pickett gave his pledge to LSU in July over opportunities at Miami, Michigan and Oregon and remains committed to the school. The prospect is having a phenomenal senior season so far at Zephyrhills High School and is also keeping his eye on LSU.

On Sept. 22, Pickett is set to make an official game-day visit to Baton Rouge when LSU takes on UCLA. He confirmed his visit on X, writing,

"Back this weekend 🐯! #home."

In Zephyrhills' game against Wiregrass Ranch on Sept. 6, despite the team's 28-14 loss, Pickett recorded two interceptions. He leads his team in receiving yards per game, averaging 55.3 yards, according to MaxPreps. He missed the Bulldogs' narrow 22-17 victory over Land O' Lakes on Sept. 15, but his impact is undeniable.

Pickett is tabbed by On3 Industry Ranking as the nation's No. 7 overall prospect, the No. 2 cornerback in the 2025 class and the top prospect in Florida. As a future LSU player, he will play an essential role in attracting other recruits to the program during his game-day visit.

LSU’s 2025 recruiting class already boasts 26 committed players, ranking No. 3 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC. Besides Pickett, the Tigers’ 2025 class includes talented cornerbacks like four-star Kade Phillips and three-star Aidan Anding.

Meanwhile, LSU started the 2024 season with a 30-27 loss to USC on Sept. 1. However, the school bounced back with a 44-21 win over Nichols on Sept. 7 and followed the streak with a 36-33 win over South Carolina on Sept. 14.

Miami continues pursuing DJ Pickett

Despite his commitment to LSU, Miami is actively pursuing DJ Pickett. The prospect has also shown interest in the Hurricanes by attending two of their games this season.

On August 31, Pickett watched Miami dominate Florida in a 41-17 victory in Gainesville. A week later, on September 7, he traveled to South Florida to witness Miami’s 56-9 rout of Florida A&M.

Miami's 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 13 in the nation. The class features 21 commits, including two four-star cornerback prospects, Jaboree Antoine and Chris Ewald. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Miami only a 4.1% chance of flipping DJ Pickett from LSU, but the Hurricanes are not backing down.
