2026 class LB prospect Tyson Harley confirms receiving offer from Sherrone Moore's Michigan
Tyson Harley, a standout linebacker from Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C., is quickly rising as a top prospect in the 2026 class. Despite being unranked by major recruiting channels, the junior is starting to catch the attention of college programs across the country.
Harley's recruitment journey took a big turn on Saturday when coach Sherrone Moore's Michigan offered him for the Wolverines' 2026 class. Linebackers coach Brian Luc Jean-Mary extended the offer to him, and the 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect tweeted his excitement, writing:
"Extremely blessed to have earned an offer from The University of Michigan!! @luc_brian #AGTG #GoBlue."
This offer positions Harley as a potential target for Michigan’s 2026 recruiting class, which has yet to land a linebacker commitment. The school has two players committed to its 2026 class: quarterback Brady Hart and cornerback Brody Jennings.
The Wolverines are also eyeing other linebacker prospects for the 2026 class, including Phillip Goodrich from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Florida and Hudson Dunn from Liberty High School in Arizona. Goodrich is reportedly leaning toward USF, but Michigan still has a 40.3% chance of securing his commitment.
Meanwhile, three-star prospect Dunn is heavily favored to choose UM, with a 62.4% chance of joining the program.
Tyson Harley's recruitment update
Tyson Harley received offers from Duke, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Indiana, Boston College, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Illinois and Syracuse. Ahead of the recent Michigan offer, West Virginia extended a scholarship to him on Sept. 7.
Harley’s performance on the field has certainly caught the attention of these programs. Last season, he earned second-team All-WCAC honors after recording 40 tackles, two tackles for loss and one interception.
Maryland leads the race for Harley's commitment, with a 15.7% chance, according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Terrapins have already secured three commitments for their 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 18 in the nation. Among their recruits are three-star players such as tight end Damon Hall, cornerback Khmari Bing and edge rusher Brian Harris.
However, Tyson Harley’s recruitment remains competitive, with other schools also making a strong push. Virginia Tech holds a 13.7% chance, while Duke follows closely with an 11.8% chance. Syracuse also remains in the mix with a 9.8% chance.
