4-star 2025 prospect Aleks Alston in contact with a pro team amid offers from LSU, Texas A&M, and others
Four-star power forward Aleks Alston is one of the few class of 2025 prospects who is yet to make any college commitment despite the different college offers he’s been receiving. According to On3’s Joe Tipton, LSU, Texas A&M, Kansas State, Gonzaga, Arizona State, Tulsa, Memphis, Indiana, and California are currently actively trying to recruit the 6-foot-8 Kenwood Academy star.
The player has also decided to expand his options overseas, as he is reportedly in contact with KK Mega Basket, a professional team in Serbia.
Alston currently has 20 college offers, notably from top colleges like Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Michigan State, which he has already visited unofficially. He’s also unofficially visited Xavier, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Indiana.
According to On3 prediction, Illinois is currently ahead in the race to secure the player’s commitment with an 18.9% chance. Next in line are Michigan State and Indiana, who have 16.5% and 14.2% chances respectively. Ohio State, Tennessee, and Xavier are also favorites, as each have an 11.8% chance of landing Alston.
Aleks Alston is currently the No. 74 ranked player in the ESPN class of 2025 top 100 rankings. The 6-foot-8 power forward has been a crucial player for Kenwood Academy, especially this season, helping them to an impressive 20-1 record, including an undefeated 7-0 run in league games.
Kenwood Academy Boys And Aleks Alston Continue Dominant Season Under Interim Coach
Head Coach Joe Mason came in as the Broncos’ interim coach this season after previous coach Mike Irvin’s controversial resignation. Mason, who also occupies the assistant principal’s position at Kenwood, has proven to be a worthy replacement, leading the Broncos on a 20-1 record.
The team’s only loss this season came against Rich Township back in December when they lost 87-83 to end their 12-game winning streak. Since then, the team has gone on another winning streak, which includes their most recent victory, a 71-51 league game win against Clark.
With previous coach Mike Irvin, the Broncos won two consecutive city championships. Another title could be well within reach if they maintain their current level of performance.
