The Los Angeles Lakers selected LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, at No. 55 overall in the 2024 NBA draft. However, some fans criticized and questioned the draft selection after an old clip resurfaced on the internet.
Ballislife posted a video on Friday from Bronny’s North Coast Blue Chips game when he. was in 8th grade. Lebron James was the coach of the team, which featured the duo of Bronny and Mikey Williams. It was a hard-fought battle between the Blue Chips and team CP3. Aden Holloway stood tall between Mikey and Bronny. However, LeBron Jr. converted multiple steals into easy buckets.
Both teams didn’t allow the opposition any breathing space. The thrilling encounter went into overtime, and LeBron’s team took the championship home courtesy of his son’s impeccable free throws. Basketball enthusiasts shared their opinions about the game under Ballislife’s post.
A few users felt that Mikey was better than Bronny in that game.
“Bronny being in the league before Mikey definitely wouldn’t have predicted that,” a fan commented.

LeBron Continues to Be A Coach For Bronny James
Cut to 2024, and Bronny James is a part of the Lakers roster along with his dad. Although the father-son duo is yet to make their debut together, Bronny played a few minutes in the Lakers’ clash against the Phoenix Suns. "King James" was seen giving tips to his son from the sidelines against Kevin Durant’s Suns.
Bronny posted 4.8 points, 2.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game at USC. He can certainly use some words of wisdom from coach JJ Reddick and dad LeBron James to boost his performance. Fans would be excited to see how Bronny performs in the league and how LeBron can help his son with his 22 years of experience.
