AJ Dybantsa out of words for Houston star Jahki Howard’s bold move
AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025, shared a poster jam by Auburn's Jahki Howard on Instagram. In Sunday's dominating 98-54 win against the Richmond Spiders, Howard dunked over a defender in the second half.
Dybantsa reshared a highlight posted by Bleacher Report hoops.

The Tigers guard came off the bench to score 13 points and grab four boards while shooting 55.5%, including 50.0% from the 3-point line, in 21 minutes. As a nonstarter, Howard is averaging 5.5 ppg and 2.0 rpg on 66.7% shooting.
Another player who helped the Tigers off the bench was Tahaad Pettiford who scored 15 points and had three rebounds and three assists for No. 2 Auburn (8-1).
On the other hand, AJ Dybantsa has continued to display stellar displays on the court. The Utah Prep player scored 31 points in an 80-77 loss against Dream City.
ESPN's Director of Recruitment Paul Biancardi commended Dybantsa's versatility:
"His talent and potential are something we have seen only on a limited number of occasions. The combination of his versatility, basketball IQ, scoring prowess, and competitive nature makes him special!"
After offers from plenty of top colleges across the nation, Dybantsa narrowed his list down to four programs: Alabama, BYU, North Carolina and Kansas.
On3's recruitment prediction machine suggests that BYU has the highest chance of landing the Brockton, Massachusetts, native (69.2% chance), followed by Kansas State (13.2%), Alabama (7.0%) and North Carolina (2.2%).
A look at AJ Dybantsa's stats
The 2022-23 Gatorade Massachusetts Boys Basketball Player of the Year averaged 19.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 blocks per game as a freshman for St. Sebastian.
He continued to show why was the top prospect after transferring to Utah Prep in the 2023-24 season, averaging 25.8 ppg at the 2023 Nike Peach Jam. This season, Dybantsa has played two games for Utah Prep and is averaging 14.0 ppg, 14.0 rpg, 5.0 apg and 3.0 spg.
