"At the end of the day a dog is a dog": Three-star WR signee Quentin Gibson ready to shine in Boulder
The Colorado Buffaloes are preparing for the future with a strong 2025 recruiting class, highlighted by three-star wide receiver Quentin Gibson. He already signed with the Buffaloes and is set to don the iconic black and gold next season.
The Memphis native is now residing in Texas, but he isn’t fazed by the colder climate of Colorado:

With the departure of key players like quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Heisman-winning wide receiver Travis Hunter after this season, the Buffs will face a significant talent gap. However, the coaching staff has been proactive in finding replacements. Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis is committed to taking over at quarterback, while Gibson is poised to help fill the void at receiver.
Gibson consistently beat defenses this season with his speed, route-running and sure hands. He is the No. 42 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 44 prospect in Texas, as per ESPN. He joins a promising group of committed wide receivers, including Adrian Wilson and Quanell Farrakhan Jr., as well as transfer receiver Joseph Williams.
Quentin Gibson leads North Crowley to historic 6A State Championship
North Crowley High School secured a dominant 50-21 victory over Austin Westlake in the Class 6A Division I state championship on Friday at AT&T Stadium. The win secured the school’s first state title since 2003 and capped off its first-ever undefeated season at 16-0, and at the heart of this historic achievement was Quentin Gibson.
Gibson opened the game by hauling in a 75-yard touchdown pass on a flea-flicker from quarterback Chris Jimerson, marking his 34th touchdown of the season. By halftime, Gibson had already tallied five receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 29.5 yards per catch.
Gibson finished the game with seven catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns. His efforts earned him the State Championship MVP and further cemented his legacy in Dallas-area high school football. His three touchdown receptions tied the 6A record for most in a state championship game.
The wide receiver was instrumental throughout North Crowley’s perfect season and ended the year with 36 touchdown receptions. This broke the Dallas-area single-season record previously held by now-Seattle Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and left Quentin Gibson just three shy of the state record set by Tren’Davian Dickson in 2014.
North Crowley’s road to glory included victories over seven schools that have collectively won 24 state titles.
