Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis officially arrived in Boulder this week after signing with Colorado on Dec. 4. The Carrollton High School standout has wrapped up his prep career and is now immersing himself in the Buffs' culture as he gears up for the Alamo Bowl on Saturday.

Lewis attended the Colorado men’s basketball game against Bellarmine on Saturday, where he was seen alongside the Buffs’ current quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. Lewis reshared photos with Sanders in his Instagram story with the caption:

"Family."

At the basketball game, Colorado built a 29-point halftime lead before securing a 79-55 victory. The Buffs will transition to Big 12 play on Dec. 30 for a home opener against Iowa State.

As for Colorado football, the Buffaloes will face No. 17 BYU on Saturday in a game between two Big 12 powerhouses. Coach Prime and his No. 23 Buffaloes have undergone a huge turnaround under his leadership. From a 1-11 record two years ago to a 9-3 finish this season, the program is determined to end its bowl drought, which dates back to 2004.

The Alamo Bowl will mark Shedeur Sanders’ final game in black and gold before passing the torch to Julian Lewis.

Julian Lewis draws a comparison to Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur Sanders rewrote the record books over two seasons with the Buffaloes and is now preparing for the NFL Draft, where he is projected to be among the top picks. Meanwhile, Deion Sanders has identified his next quarterback of the future in Julian Lewis.

Lewis might not need to step in immediately due to the presence of transfer signee Kaidon Salter, but his arrival aligns perfectly with Deion Sanders' vision for Colorado. Surprisingly, Coach Prime also sees many similarities between Lewis and his son Shedeur.

"I saw a lot of similarities between the way Julian’s life has been structured and Shedeur’s,” the Colorado coach said during a meeting with the media last week. “Some of the similarities are unbelievable. That kid right there is everything that we desire in a quarterback. He’s smart, he can make every throw but most of all, he’s a winner.”

Lewis has been phenomenal throughout his high school career, building a reputation as one of the top high school quarterbacks in the nation. Despite his school's narrow loss in the Georgia 6A state championship this week, the signal-caller capped off an exceptional three-year career with 11,010 passing yards, 144 touchdowns, and a 39-4 record. His dominance earned him his second Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year honor earlier this month.
