Dan Lanning's Oregon offers scholarship to Washington OT commit Zac Stascausky: REPORTS

Maliha

Three-star offensive tackle Zac Stascausky, from Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon, remains committed to Washington, but other programs are still reaching out to him. He kicked off September with an offer from the Georgia Bulldogs.

On Tuesday, Dan Lanning's Oregon became the second school to offer Stascausky this month. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound prospect shared the news on X, tagging Lanning, offensive line coach A'lique Terry and special teams coordinator Joe Lorig:

"I am honored to announce I have received an offer from Oregon! @105CoachTerry @CoachDanLanning @CoachJoeLorig @oregonfootball."

Some of Stascausky's other offers include Arizona, UCLA, Oregon State, BYU, Minnesota, Northern Arizona and UNLV, among others who want him for their 2025 class.

Zac Stascausky is ranked by On3 as the nation's No. 25 offensive tackle in the 2025 class and the No. 1 prospect in Oregon. 247 Sports places him as the No. 75 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 5 prospect in the state.

Will Zac Stascausky flip to Oregon?

Initially, the Minnesota Gophers took the lead in Zac Stascausky's recruitment by offering him on May 9. He then made an official visit to Minnesota on June 8 and committed to the Big Ten program the following day. However, just two months later, his commitment took a sharp turn, as after receiving an offer from the Washington Huskies on July 19, he flipped his commitment on August 6 to join the Dawgs' 2025 class.

Oregon has now emerged as a potential threat to Washington’s hold on Stascausky’s commitment. The in-state program has had him on their radar for some time, hosting him for multiple unofficial visits this past winter and spring. However, the school only extended a formal offer to him after evaluating his senior film several weeks into his senior season.

Oregon has an open week, giving the coaching staff an opportunity to focus on recruiting and potentially making a bigger push for Stascausky. Dan Lanning acknowledged the importance of this recruitment, saying (via 247 Sports),

"I think this will be a great week for us to get out there and be able to see some guys and take advantage of that."

The Ducks have a pressing need for offensive linemen in this cycle, despite already having three commitments in their 2025 class, which ranks No. 8 in the nation. Their current offensive line commits include tackle Ziyare Addison and interior linemen Demetri Manning and Alai Kalaniuvalu.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine still gives the Huskies a 99.2% chance of holding onto Stascausky’s commitment. But momentum in recruiting can shift quickly, especially with Oregon’s push to get him back on campus for an unofficial visit during a game this fall.

If the Ducks can make a strong impression and Zac Stascausky feels a pull toward staying in-state, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he will flip once again.
