Deion Sanders’ son Bucky likes post of 2025 Edge Jared Smith pulling up in Tesla Cyber truck worth over $60,000 during Auburn visit
Jared Smith, the four-star recruit from Hoover, Alabama, is one of the most highly sought-after athletes from the class of 2025. He is receiving a lot of interest from some of the best schools in the country, including Auburn, who played hosts to Smith during the Big Cat weekend.
Smith decided to pull up in style for the weekend as he drove a Tesla Cybertruck. Deion Sanders' son, Bucky Sanders, liked the post that shared the news about Smith's grand entry. The four-star edge had Auburn's logo on the truck as well, signaling his interest in joining the prestigious program.
Auburn is leading the race to acquire the elite edge rusher's services for next year, as per On3's prediction model. Other schools in contention to sign Smith are South Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss, USC, Florida State, Michigan and Texas among others.
Jared Smith is ranked No. 42 nationally and is the fourth-best player at his position in the country. He is also the second-best overall prospect from the state of Alabama, according to On3 Industry Rankings.
Jared Smith talks about his visit to Auburn during the Big Cat Weekend
The four-star recruit from Thompson High School, Jared Smith, visited Auburn's campus during the Big Cat Weekend. The 6-foot-6 edge from Alabama is one of the best prospects from the class of 2025 and is a highly-rated target for the Tigers.
He talked about his visit to the campus and his interaction with the Tigers' head coach, Hugh Freeze, and his coaching staff. This included defensive coordinator and linebackers coach DJ Durkin, and edge rushers coach Josh Aldridge.
"It was good, just getting with all the recruits, talking to coach Freeze, coach Aldridge, coach Durkin," Smith said, as per On3. "It was a great day."
He further talked about his reason for having Auburn as one of the top colleges in his list of favorites.
"Man, just the culture, then being in-state, that’s what everybody keeps preaching," the edge rusher said, according to On3. "In-state kid... Why not stay in-state? You know, play for your people. Just the culture that they have built, the atmosphere – even if they’re losing – every game, the atmosphere (is great). So just the culture."
Smith is set to announce his commitment on August 3 and is yet to make a final decision. Auburn has an 82% chance to land the 6-foot-6 athlete, as per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). It will be interesting to see where Smith ends up signing with the Tigers.
