"He actually doesn’t look like Lebron lmao": Hoops fans react to LeBron James' son Bryce James naming his celebrity look alike
Bryce James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, got fans talking after playfully naming his father as his celebrity lookalike. The 17-year-old was featured in a video that was posted on Instagram channel Overtime on 2 November. He was asked:
“Who is your celebrity look alike?”
“LeBron,” Bryce replied.
Bryce James’ response instantly sparked comments from fans, with many debating just how much or (little) he resembles his NBA superstar dad. One fan said:
“He actually doesn't look like LeBron Lamao."
Other fans weighed in:
"Bryce trolling; he obviously meant Austin Reeves.”
“He knows he ion look like no NBA youngboy.”
“He looks kind of like Bronny James on the Lakers.”
“Bryce kinda looks like Jameis Winston.” One user quipped
Some, however, thought that his reply did have some merit:
“He kind of looks like LeBron."
While fans seem split on whether Bryce resembles his father in looks, are there similarities between them on the court?
How does Bryce James compare to LeBron James on the court?
LeBron James is an NBA legend who for most, shares the top spot among basketball greats alongside Michael Jordan. Given that, it seems harsh to make comparisons with anyone, but it can be done if we look at LeBron's younger years.
James Sr. was a 6-foot-2 tall freshman at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and in his sophomore year, posted impressive averages of 25.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 3.7 steals per game.
In comparison, Bryce James is already 6-foot-6 and still growing and is expected to reach his father’s current height of 6-foot-9. Playing for Sierra Canyon School as a shooting guard, Bryce averaged 6.9 points, 0.9 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Similarly, with his powerful build and long wingspan, LeBron can be a dominant force both offensively and defensively. Bryce, on the other hand, leans toward sharpshooting and off-ball movement, something that resembles the playing style of his big brother, Bronny James.
At present, LeBron James and Bryce James appear to be leagues apart, even in LeBron's younger years. However, Bryce is still in his formative years and while it would be a monumental challenge for anyone to get to the level of his father, he could chisel out his own legacy.
