Mater Dei (7-0), last year's national champion, avoided a loss. Elsewhere, St. John Bosco (8-0), who won national championships in 2019 and 2022, is also undefeated.

Mater Dei vs St. John Bosco: Key wins and upcoming showdowns shape high school football rankings
In his second game as the starting quarterback for St. John Bosco, freshman Koa Malau’ulu led the Braves to a 27-17 win over Servite at SoFi Stadium.
Malau’ulu had a completion rate of 68% (17 of 25 attempts) and three touchdowns, while he threw for 241 pass yards.
Meanwhile, Mater Dei improved to 7-0 with a dominant 41-17 win over JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, CA).
Since 2018, St. John Bosco has led 3-2 against Mater Dei when meeting as the top-two teams in the MaxPreps rankings.
No. 13 Venice (FL) rebounded from their first loss with a 27-20 win over Clearwater Central Catholic (FL). Venice’s only defeat came against No. 6 IMG Academy.
No. 30 De La Salle (Concord, CA) extended their undefeated streak to 7-0 with a convincing 42-14 win over San Ramon Valley (CA), continuing a 20-game winning streak since 2006. No. 23 Centennial (Corona, CA) also dominated with a 28-9 victory over Murrieta Valley, marking their sixth straight win.
No. 24 DeMatha (Hyattsville, MD) routed Good Counsel 35-7, winning their sixth consecutive game. Archbishop Moeller (OH) surged to No. 59 after defeating St. Edward 35-30, while Oxford (AL) entered the rankings at No. 278 after upsetting Clay-Chalkville 21-10.
