Top ranked 2026 RB expresses excitement ahead of official visit to Dan Lanning’s Oregon
Tradarian Ball, a top running back prospect from Texarkana, Texas, eagerly awaits his official visit to Dan Lanning's Oregon this week.
The 5'10", 185-pound standout, ranked as a four-star prospect by On3 and among the top 247 players in his class by 247Sports, is looking forward to experiencing the Ducks' program under HC Dan Lanning.
Oregon has been gaining traction in Ball’s recruitment, with the On3 Recruit Prediction Machine favoring the Ducks. Ball, who has already formed a strong connection with Oregon's running back coach Ra’Shaad Samples, expressed his excitement about the visit, saying,
"What excites me about the trip is getting down there, seeing the place for myself, and just connecting with Coach (Dan) Lanning."
Ball is considered the No. 2 running back in the nation and the No. 5 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports.
He has amassed 40 offers, including from programs like Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Florida State, USC, and more. Despite Texas leading on the 247Sports Crystal Ball, sources close to Ball are optimistic about Oregon's chances.
Recently, Ball visited SMU for an unofficial visit and was impressed by the Mustangs. He highlighted the campus, the location, and the staff's extensive experience.
"I liked it; I think it was great," Ball told On3. "Every school has facilities, uniforms, and money, but they take their recruiting seriously. They’re gonna build an offense around you," he added.
In his sophomore year, Ball rushed for 1,225 yards and 12 touchdowns, adding 400 receiving yards and six more scores. As a freshman, he nearly reached 1,000 yards of total offense with 13 combined touchdowns.
Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks stay hot on recruiting trail with 5-star prospect Michael Terry III
Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks are continuing their strong recruiting efforts, targeting 5-star athlete Michael Terry III. The versatile playmaker from San Antonio's Alamo Heights is set for his third official visit to Eugene on Saturday, July 27, following an unofficial visit to Texas on June 25.
According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Terry, standing 6'3" and weighing 210 lbs, is being eyed by the Ducks. However, with two backs already committed, he might be utilized as a multi-position player if he joins Oregon.
"In my interviews with Terry, he’s told me that the Ducks are mainly looking at him as a running back, but with two backs already in the fold, it seems like he’s trending more of a do-it-all guy were he to come to Oregon," Max Torres of On3 said.
Dan Lanning's recruiting class in Oregon is already impressive, ranking fifth nationally with a 94% blue-chip rate. Adding Terry, along with their recent commitment from top 2025 wide receiver Dakorien Moore, would further solidify Oregon's dominance in recruiting cycle.
