"I feel like family already": 4-star LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng talks about the Michigan Wolverines ahead of his upcoming visit

Four-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, a standout talent from IMG Academy, is set to revisit the University of Michigan this weekend as he explores potential college choices.

Following his initial experience watching Michigan’s victory over USC at the Big House in September, Owusu-Boateng has expressed a strong affinity for the Wolverines.

“I will be at Michigan this weekend,” Owusu-Boateng told On3. “What draws me back is understanding the fact that I’m a necessity and the love I get from Michigan. It’s a family atmosphere up there.”

Although Michigan has emerged as a top contender for Owusu-Boateng, the competition is fierce, with Notre Dame close behind. His connection with the Fighting Irish is noteworthy; his brother previously played for Notre Dame, and they remain a leading option.

Owusu-Boateng is among the nation’s elite, ranked as the No. 18 player and the top linebacker according to Rivals. He holds a spot as the No. 4 recruit from his home state and the No. 111 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings.

Reflecting on his first game at Michigan, he noted the game’s intense atmosphere and how the Wolverines’ resilience made a strong impression on him:

“I feel like family already. It’s more than football it’s about you the person. The atmosphere was electric. It was a battled-tested win and the team never folded when they were down. It was my first game at Michigan and they made a great impression.”

IMG Academy’s Owusu-Boateng reflects on Michigan Visit, considers future as decision nears

Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, a four-star linebacker originally from the DMV region, has made a significant impact since transferring to IMG Academy in Florida. He is ranked as the No. 73 overall recruit, the No. 8 linebacker, and the No. 11 prospect in Florida for the Class of 2025 by 247Sports’ Composite rankings.

During his recent visit to Michigan, Owusu-Boateng was thoroughly impressed.

“This visit helped them a lot,” Owusu-Boateng said. “Every time I come back, they impress me even more. When talking to the coaches, their message was that they need me. I would love to play in the Big House.”

After Michigan, Owusu-Boateng has two more official visits lined up: one to Texas on October 19 and another to Notre Dame on November 4. He plans to make his final decision shortly after these visits.

As he weighs his options, he explained:

“I will go to the school I feel comfortable at,” Owusu-Boateng told On3 last week in an interview. “And it is not just me, but my family having that feeling as well.
"I am searching for the place I want to be for the next four years. I want to get a great education in economics and finance and go to a place that can prepare me to be three and out. Who gives time the best opportunity to reach my goals is where I will go.”

As a junior, he showcased his defensive skills with 45 tackles, six tackles for loss, a sack, a pass breakup, and a fumble recovery across eight games.
