"I'm jacking this": Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan reacts to his cousin's snaps as the two indulge in a shopping spree in Japan
Kiyan Anthony, the son of 10-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony, went on a purchasing spree in Shibuya, Japan, with his cousin Mekai Vazquez, and the two continued to have fun on social media too. On Monday, Vazquez shared glimpses of their shopping, and Kiyan wrote to his cousin that he was going to steal the bags.
Anthony is on vacation in Japan with his family. After his impressive performance in the 2024 Nike Peach Jam, Kiyan decided to tour Japan. Vazquez posted the photographs of their shopping in the Harajuku area of Shibuya, and Kiyan commented:
"I'm jacking this."
Earlier, snippets of Kiyan's trip to Japan were shared on his socials. He is accompanied by his mother, La La, an actress and producer. Kiyan's father, Carmelo Anthony, who occupies the 10th spot in the NBA's all-time scoring list, also accompanied him.
247Sports ranks Kiyan as the No. 32 overall prospect in the class of 2025. He averaged 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in the 2024 Nike Peach Jam tournament. In the game against Mac Irvin Fire, Kiyan dropped 40 points, shooting 15-9 from the field.
Next basketball nest of Kiyan Anthony
Kiyan Anthony has dropped some clues for his fans about what his next basketball destination is going to be. He shortlisted six programs on social media that interest him most, naming the Ohio State Buckeyes, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Syracuse Orange, Florida State Seminoles and USC Trojans.
Carmelo Anthony played for Syracuse, but Kiyan shared that his father does not want his past to influence the future choice of his son. In October 2023, Kiyan told On3 that he had no pressure from his father about his future trajectory:
"It's no pressure going there. I know wherever I go, I'm just gonna go there and play my game. But my dad always tells me, 'Don't feel like you got to go to Syracuse because I went there. Really look into these colleges and choose where you want to go'. So, that's what I'm really looking forward to doing."
Carmelo Anthony spent one year of his college basketball career at Syracuse and helped the program win the national championship. Kiyan visited the Orange in October 2023 and donned the orange jersey.
