“Im backkkkkkk!!!” - Iowa transfer OT Nick Brooks hints at potential return to Kirby Smart’s Georgia
Nick Brooks, the four-star recruit from Grayson High School, is one of the best offensive tackles in the country from the class of 2025. The 6-foot-7 lineman is sitting on multiple offers from some of the best programs in the nation.
Brooks has received offers from Georgia, Iowa, Texas, USC, Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, Nebraska, Florida State, Penn State, UCF, and Tennessee, among others.
The four-star recruit had originally committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes back in September 2023, but decommitted soon after, in November.
Since his decommitment, Georgia has emerged as a top contender to acquire his services. Brooks is apparently back in Georgia, as per his most recent tweet. This will surely help the Georgia Bulldogs as they ramp up their pursuit of the four-star lineman.
The Georgia native is currently ranked no.208 nationally and is the 17th-best offensive lineman in the country, as per On3 Industry Rankings.
He is also the 30th-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia. The Bulldogs have a 64.9% chance of landing the offensive lineman, as per On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Nick Brooks talks about Kirby Smart's Georgia after a June official visit
Nick Brooks took an official visit to Kirby Smart's Georgia in June this year. The Bulldogs are the favorites to sign the four-star prospect, according to On3 Recruiting Prediction Model.
The Georgia native spoke about the program and what he is looking for in his dream college.
"My first official visit was great," the lineman told On3. "I mean it’s Georgia... The highlights of my visit were bonding with the coaching staff, bonding with the players and the great food."
Brooks also talked about his relationships with Smart and his coaching staff, especially the program's offensive line coach, Stacey Searels.
"My time with coach Searels was good. We talked a lot about football, he showed me that I could fit in with what he teaches and be the best I can be there," Brooks said. "Me and coach Smart have had a great bond for years now, so it was the same as always with him. He took my family in like he’s known them how long he had known me. That was nice."
While Georgia is leading the race to land Nick Brooks, other schools such as Iowa, Texas, and USC are still in the hunt for the four-star lineman.
