Julian Lewis awestruck after "most respected source in College Football" touts him as Day 1 starter for Colorado in 2025

Julian Lewis became the Colorado Buffaloes' quarterback after he put pen to paper during the early signing period on Wednesday. He committed to the program on Nov. 21 after flipping his pledge from USC. Lewis turned to the Buffs after a successful recruiting campaign by Deion Sanders.

Acquiring the four-star prospect was a big moment for the Buffaloes, and with QB Shedeur Sanders potentially leaving for the NFL after this season, Lewis is now the favorite to inherit the starting position.

CFB Insiders Max Chadwick and Dalton Wasserman touted him as a Day 1 starter on the "PFF College Podcast" in November, a day after his flip:

"I actually think watching him a bit, he's a pretty natural heir to Shedeur Sanders," Wasserman said.

Chadwick followed it up by predicting:

"I think, Dalton, unless they go on and get a guy in the transfer portal, I think Julian Lewis will most likely be the starting quarterback for Colorado next year."

The 6-foot athlete tweeted this clip of the duo on Thursday, alongside the caption:

"Crazy being talked about by the least subjective and most respected source in college football player performance and analysis."

Lewis is ranked No. 39 in the country and is the sixth-best quarterback in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the sixth-best overall prospect from the state of Georgia.

Julian Lewis spoke about his commitment to the Colorado Buffaloes

After the QB from Carrollton High School in Georgia gave his pledge to Colorado, he spoke about his decision and lauded the coaching staff.

"It’s a huge opportunity! What Coach Prime has been able to build in two seasons can’t be denied," Lewis said in November, via On3. "Coach Shurmur has been an NFL offensive coordinator and head coach, so he understands exactly what’s needed at the next level. Coach Prime is going to play the best player, whether it’s a freshman or a walk-on."

Julian Lewis became a part of the Buffs' No. 37-ranked class, according to 247Sports. The Boulder-based program landed 14 commitments from the Class of 2025 and has created a decent roster for the future.

The Georgia native had a fantastic high school career, racking up 10,484 yards, 140 touchdowns and just 18 interceptions while completing 68.8% of his pass attempts in three years at Carrollton.
