Kiyan Anthony's mom, La La Anthony, is excited about former Super Bowl champion Tim Johnson's debut book, "Fatherless No More: Understanding who we are when we know who the father is." The book discusses the challenges related to one's identity, and Joe Gibbs and Max Davis wrote the foreword.

Why La La Anthony kept her marital name
La La Anthony and former NBA star Carmelo Anthony were engaged in 2004 and welcomed their son, Kiyan Anthony, three years later. After years of marriage, the duo divorced in 2021 but La La still holds on to her marital surname, and the reason is none other than her son, Kiyan.
Syracuse commit Kiyan Anthony is a former ESPN four-star recruit from the Class of 2025, who boasts the No. 1 rank in New York. His talent is highly praised, with him being one of the top 10 scorers in the 2024 EYBL circuit. Moreover, At the summer National Basketball Players Academy, Kiyan averaged 28.5 points per game, displaying his skills in front of NBA coaches.
To support the young hooper's future career, La La Anthony chose not to part ways with her marital surname. During a panel discussion with Taylor Roots at Fanatics Fest in August, Roots commented on the potential excitement of "buying Kiyan's NBA jersey." In response, La La said:

Although Anthony supported her ex in his NBA career, she says supporting your child is a whole different experience.
"It’s different when it’s your kid,” she shared. It’s just a whole different ball game. It feels like a brand new journey that I’m going on with him.”
The mother-son duo share a very close bond. In early December, the duo placed a bet on a basketball game between the Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers. The Nuggets stole the victory a 126-122 win and the duo won $44,000.
