Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans lose commitment of 5-star WR in the Class of 2025

Five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles decommitted from the USC Trojans' 2025 class on Sunday evening. The standout from Corner Canyon High School in Utah has been committed to the Trojans since Sept. 18.

“After talking with my family and god I’ve decided to decommit from the University of Southern California, please respect my decision,” Myles wrote on X announcing his decision.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect had previously committed to Ole Miss in April before decommitting from the Rebels in June, which led to his initial pledge to USC. His decommitment is a huge loss for the Trojans, as he was one of only two five-star recruits in USC’s 2025 class, alongside five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet, who flipped from Texas A&M to USC last month.

Since June, Lincoln Riley's program has lost commitments from three other five-star prospects in the 2025 class: quarterback Julian Lewis, defensive tackle Justus Terry and defensive end Isaiah Gibson. The cycle is now left with 20 committed players, ranking No. 17 in the nation.

Jerome Myles' decommitment marks the second consecutive year the Trojans have seen a highly regarded wide receiver prospect back out of a commitment late in the recruiting cycle. Last year, four-star wide receiver Ryan Pellum flipped his commitment to the Oregon Ducks on National Signing Day.

USC still has four wide receivers in the 2025 class: Corey Simms, Tanook Hines, Romero Ison and James Johnson.

Potential landing spot for Jerome Myles following his decommitment from the USC Trojans

Texas A&M was a runner-up for Jerome Myles' commitment when he gave his pledge to the USC Trojans. With his decommitment from the Trojans, the Aggies are trending to land his service.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong has placed a pick in favor of Texas A&M in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, giving the Aggies a 55.9% chance of landing Myles. Multiple 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions have followed suit.

The Aggies' connection to Myles deepened when they secured a commitment from his high school teammate, four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga (2026), on Oct 16.

Despite battling injuries in his final two high school seasons, Jerome Myles remains one of the most promising playmakers in the country. He is ranked as the No. 24 prospect in the nation, the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 1 recruit in Utah, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
