Mike Elko's Texas A&M trend as favorites to recruit 4-star RB Jonathan Hatton Jr. to their 2026 Class
High school football in 2024 is concluding with teams playing the last few games in the playoffs, and state championships are set. Recruiting has been ongoing as well, and many college football programs are making headlines; the Texas A&M Aggies are trending for four-star running back Jonathan Hatton Jr.
Class of 2026 running back Jonathan Hatton Jr. of Steele High School in Texas has had some buzz in the recruiting scene lately. He had been committed to Oklahoma since October 2023, but he reopened his recruitment and de-committed from the Sooners on December 2, 2024.
He spoke to On3 recruiting about what went into his de-commitment from Oklahoma.
“I’ve been thinking about this for a little while, but I wanted to make sure I didn’t rush my decision. The main reason I decommitted was to make sure I’m putting myself in the best possible position to be successful,” Hatton said.
With the news of his departure from the Sooners 2026 recruiting class, many schools are still in the running for Jonathan Hatton Jr., Texas A&M being one of them.
“I’m going to go through the process, but out of my top schools is Texas A&M,” he said, adding, “From coach Elko to coach Klein and of course Coach Trooper, they have set the bar high and made it clear what the plan is for me in what they are building.”
