Maine commit Ace Flagg, the twin brother of Duke Blue Devils freshman power forward Cooper Flagg, is with a new school after moving to North Carolina from Montverde Academy in Florida.
He is now with Greensborough Day High School. The youngster shared a group snap with his new teammates in front of their home court, Dillard Gym, on his Instagram Stories.
Flagg moved to North Carolina after his twin brother went to Duke University, which is about an hour away from Greensborough. He and Cooper were part of that undefeated Montverde Academy Eagles squad last season.
As for his new team, the Greensborough Day Bengals will be opening the 2024-2025 season at home, taking on Southlake Christian High School on Nov. 9. Ace Flagg debuted with his new team against Oak Ridge Military Academy during a preseason game on Nov. 6, which they won 51-34.
Flagg is a 6-foot-7 power forward who is rated as a three-star by 247Sports. He is ranked the No. 288 overall by 247Sports Composite, as well as the No. 58 power forward and the No. 21 player in North Carolina from the Class of 2025.
He picked the Maine Black Bears over West Virginia and George Washington University as his school of choice last week. He is now the school's first commit from the Class of 2025, but he initially wanted to go to Duke with his twin brother, but the school was not interested in him.
With Duke not an option, he opted to "come home" to Maine, which is near his hometown of Bangor. He and his brother grew up there before moving to Montverde, Florida, for their basketball careers.
Ace Flagg believes move to Greensborough Day High School will let him grow

"To just be able to showcase what I can do and I think Greensboro is going to be that place for me," he said.
Ace also noted that Greensborough Day will help him reach his potential. He also talked about his choice of college, saying that Maine is a special place for him, and praised the school for always reaching out to him and being aggressive with his recruitment.
