Aaliyah Chavez's mother, Dre Chavez, often updates fans on the life and commitment status of the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025. On Sunday, she took to Instagram to share a throwback snap of her daughter. The 18-year-old could be seen posing with Raniyah Hunt, another recruit from the 2025 class.
Hunt held on to a golden basketball-shaped trophy, which they apparently received after winning the 2017 National Tournament. They finished first in the 4th-grade girls category. Aaliyah Chavez, then aged 11, donned a #2 NLMA Elite jersey while Hunt added a red headband to the same outfit.
"#seniorsunday," Chavez's mother wrote.
Dre Chavez loves giving fans snippets from Chavez's routine. The youngster turned 18 on Nov. 20.
Aaliyah's mother also posted a clip of the youngster trying her hand at different games at a video game parlour.
“Cause what else would you be doing on your 18th birthday?” the text read.
Dre Chavez also makes sure to shut the rumors following the 5-foot-9 point guard's official visits to various programs. She has, in the past, posted a snap from the visit with "#notcommited" on her Instagram handle.
Which college will Aaliyah Chavez pick?
The Texas native has over 25 offers from Division I colleges. Texas Tech, UCLA, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, South Carolina and USC are top candidates for the No. 1 prospect from the upcoming class.
Oklahoma's chances stand at an impressive 37%, as per On3, following Chavez's Oct. 18 visit to the Sooners facilities.
However, UCLA isn't far behind, as they have a 32.3% probability of landing the ace youngster. Texas Tech, with a 9.8% chance, is next in line.
LSU and Texas are also in contention with an 8.2% probability. Brandon Clay, director of scouting, believes Chavez's versatility makes her a great pick for the lead guard position.

Chavez has been exceptional ever since she began her high school basketball career. In her sophomore year at Monterey High School, in Lubbock, Texas, she charted 30 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
She improved her already incredible stats the following season, averaging 37.8 points and 10.1 rebounds every game.
Her performance dropped slightly to 35.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season. Chavez would like to keep up the momentum and take college basketball by storm as well. Hoops fans curiously await the 2025 class' top recruit's decision.
