"That’s a proud dad right there": Hoops fans react to Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan Anthony's evolving skills
Kiyan Anthony and Long Island Lutheran will be going to the Jordan Holiday Classic from Dec. 27-29 at Baruch College’s Arc Arena in New York City. While the son of Carmelo Anthony had been out for a few games due to an injury, Made Hoops is saying that he may be back by that time. The Instagram page even posted a highlight reel of his performances that showed his improvement.
Kiyan started his high school basketball career slowly, and Made Hoops noted how much he has improved. This has gotten fans talking.
"That’s a proud dad right there❤️," said one commenter regarding Carmelo Anthony.
"Young @carmeloanthony Professional scorer, winner, and infatuated with the game," said another person.
"The pace is so smooth," another person noted.
Meanwhile, others also talked about the first clip featured in the highlight reel, where Kiyan Anthony dunked but fell badly on his back. The clip was from LuHi's season opener against St. Joseph's where Kiyan got injured, and it showed why the four-star shooting guard missed several games. Meanwhile, others just talked about how good Kiyan has been so far.
"The frist dunk😵💫," said one commenter.
"first clip tho?." another person asked.
"🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏽," a fan said.
Kiyan Anthony missed several important games for Long Island Lutheran, including that 65-50 win over Sierra Canyon on Dec. 14 and that 59-65 loss against Montverde Academy on Dec. 16.
Which team will Kiyan Anthony and Long Island Lutheran take on during the Jordan Holiday Classic?
Made Hoops is organizing the event in Kiyan Anthony's home state of New York, and this year will feature the third edition of the annual high school basketball event, which started back in 2022. The 2024 edition will feature teams from four states and over 25 players ranked in the Top 150 of the classes of 2025, 2026, and 2027.
While several teams will have two games scheduled for the event, the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders only have one on the schedule and it will happen on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Their opponent will be the Christopher Columbus High School Explorers from Miami, Florida, and the team is led by none other than the Boozer Twins, No. 2 ranked Cameron and No. 23 ranked Cayden.
This will surely be a test for LuHi as Columbus has been red-hot this season, only losing its season opener against No. 3 ranked Darryn Peterson and Prolific Prep.
