"This visit was absolutely huge": Hurricanes recruiting insider talks about why he does not "count out" Miami flipping 3-star USC commit Shamar Arnoux

Shamar Arnoux, a three-star cornerback from Carrollton High School in Georgia, was snapped up by Lincoln Riley's USC Trojans in June. However, despite his commitment, other programs are still in play to flip it.

One of those programs is the Miami Hurricanes. Coach Mario Cristobal and his staff extended an offer to Arnoux in September, three months after his commitment to the Trojans. Arnoux visited Miami this weekend as the Hurricanes upped their intensity in flipping the three-star prospect.

Miami insider Izubee Charles believes the visit was important for Miami to make a run at the 6-foot-1 cornerback and that he couldn't "count out" the program.

"Yeah, I think this visit was absolutely huge," Charles said in an interview with On3 Recruits. "I asked him why it was important to get down to Miami this weekend and he said, honestly for the convenience of his family. The majority of his family still lives in South Florida."

Charles added that the rotation Hurricanes defensive backs get had impressed Arnoux.

"One thing that he also mentioned was also seeing how Miami rotates their defensive backs and they give a lot of different guys opportunities," Arnoux told Charles, as per On3 Recruits' YouTube channel.

Shamar Arnoux is ranked No. 451 in the country and is the 43rd-best cornerback in the Class of 2025, as per On3. He is also the 59th-best overall prospect from his home state.

Shamar Arnoux sheds light on his commitment to the USC Trojans

The USC Trojans landed Shamar Arnoux on June 26. He chose the Trojans over programs such as Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, Texas A&M and Clemson.

He was previously committed to the Tennessee Volunteers but decommitted in February. Arnoux spoke further about his decision to commit to the Trojans.

"This was more than just a three to four-year decision this was a life-after-football decision and I feel like I have a lot to offer USC as a football player," Arnoux told On3. "And I know what being part of the USC family can do for me when football is over."

USC's Class of 2025 is currently ranked No. 10 in the country, as per 247Sports. The Trojans have landed 23 commitments so far from the class and are poised to have a strong roster for the upcoming seasons.
