Top 2025 DL Jaylen Williams targets Josh Heupel's SEC powerhouse among other 3 schools in 2024
Jaylen Williams, a defensive lineman from Illinois, has shortlisted four schools. Tennessee, Texas A&M, Michigan and Nebraska are the four schools Williams is targeting in 2024.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pound, four-star defensive lineman plays his high school basketball at Palatine High School in Illinois. In the class of 2025, Williams is rated as the No. 236 talent. Additionally, he is ranked the No. 6 player and No. 29 defensive lineman in Illinois by 247Sports.
Williams talked about Josh Heupel's Tennessee Volunteers in an interview with On3 last month.
"They’ve been around for some time so that relationship we built is strong," Williams said. "Coach (Rodney) Gardner and Coach Chop (Levorn Harbin) are some of my favorites out there always checking in on me and my family. Truly some genuine people. I’ve been out to Knoxville twice, why not make it a three-piece."
Williams is scheduled for an official visit to Tennessee on June 14. He had an unofficial visit to Tennessee on Nov. 18, 2023, during the Vols' game against Georgia. He will officially visit Nebraska on June 21. Tennessee offered a scholarship to Jaylen Williams in March last year.
Other Tennessee commits of the 2025 class are:
- Quarterback George MacIntyre
- Defensive lineman Ethan Utley
- Tight end Jack Van Dorseiaer
- Cornerback Dylan Lewis
- Running back Justin Baker
- Wide receiver Joakim Dodson
- Cornerback Tyler Redmond
- Safety Sidney Walton
- Wide receiver Radarious Jackson
- Offensive lineman Antoni Kade Ogumoro
Texas A&M is looking to acquire the services of four-star DL Jaylen Williams
Texas A&M is one of the top four schools of Jaylen Williams. The defensive lineman will visit Michigan this weekend and is scheduled to take a trip to Tennessee and Nebraska the next two weekends.
Williams can play at the 3-tech or 4i or rush the passer off the edge. He has the power, speed and jittery athleticism to be a successful player in any system, and as his development progresses, he may cause havoc off the edge.
The four-star DL opened up about the Aggies in an interview with On3 last month.
"They’re a school that also shows that I’m high on their board," Williams said. "Coach Tony (Jerod-Eddie) is building something special over there."
Williams has an unofficial visit scheduled with Texas A&M before officially visiting other schools in the list.
