UConn Huskies point guard Paige Bueckers' High School basketball video reminds us that she was 'built different'

We all know Paige Bueckers as the UConn Huskies guard. While she continues to display some stellar performances for the Huskies, Beuckers was a baller back in her high school also.

Before UConn, Bueckers played for the Hopkins High School, Minnesota. She won the Player of the Game 22 times in five years and also received the Player of the Year award for the 2018-19 season.

From her debut where she scored 28 points and dished out four assists to her final year, Beuckers left the fans dazzling. Check out this video of Paige Beuckers balling on the court including some trash-talking:

Bueckers played 105 games for Hopkins High School and averaged 19.5 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 0.5 blocks per contest. Furthermore, she averaged over 21 points per game for four of the five seasons. The 5'10" guard was ranked at the sixth spot nationally and at the first spot in her state.

During her senior year, Bueckers won the 2020 Gatorade National Player of the Year, 2020 McDonald’s SLAM and Jordan Brand Classic All-American, 2020 Naismith Prep Player of the Year, 2020 Morgan Wootten Player of the Year and 2020 Minnesota Miss Basketball.

What's next for Paige Bueckers?

While the WNBA is in sight for Paige Bueckers and the fans are excited to see her turn professional, Bueckers will be playing basketball in the offseason too. However, this will not be a 5v5 as the UConn guard has signed a deal with the women's basketball league 'Unrivaled'.

Founded by legends Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, Bueckers will be joined by players from the WNBA.

The league helps the players to stay in shape during the offseason. However, we will see Paige Bueckers play in Unrivaled in 2026 as she continues to lead the Huskies in her final year with the team.

Which WNBA team do you think will draft Paige Bueckers?
