In a stunning move, Oregon's head coach Dan Lanning has secured a commitment from Dakorien Moore, the top-ranked wide receiver in the 2025 class. Moore, hailing from Duncanville, Texas, is not only the No. 1 wide receiver but also the No. 3 overall recruit according to the 2025 ESPN 300 rankings.
A recent video showcasing Moore’s rigorous training regimen has further highlighted the dedication and skill that have earned him his top ranking. The demanding and precise drill underscores why Moore is considered one of the best in his class.

Moore, standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 195 pounds, is celebrated for his explosive playmaking abilities. Currently, the Ducks are ranked No. 5 in ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI), a ranking bolstered by Lanning’s success in attracting elite talent.

As per the 247 Sports Composite rating, Moore is a 5-star prospect, the third-ranked student-athlete, the best wide receiver and the top high school player in Texas in his class.
The Ducks' ascent under Lanning, who took the helm before the 2022 season, has been impressive. After a 10-3 record in 2022, Oregon improved to 12-2 last season and claimed the Fiesta Bowl title against Liberty. Lanning's prowess in securing top-tier talent is a key factor in Oregon's rise as a national contender, with the Ducks currently ranked No. 5 by ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI).
Dakorien Moore's commitment boosts Oregon's recruiting class
Oregon scored a major recruiting win on the Fourth of July with five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore committing to the Ducks, outpacing offers from Alabama, Texas, LSU and Ohio State. Moore becomes the 11th ESPN 300 commitment for Oregon's 2025 class.
Entering his senior year at Duncanville High, Dakorien Moore is celebrated as one of Texas' premier high school prospects, coming off consecutive state championships. His impressive sophomore season in 2022 saw him catch 44 passes for 764 yards and six touchdowns.
Partnering with Alabama commit Keelon Russell, Moore's junior year stats soared to 1,532 yards on 71 receptions with 18 touchdowns, propelling Duncanville to another state title. Additionally, Moore's contribution to the 4x200 relay team helped secure a 6A state championship.
Dakorien Moore's commitment solidifies Lanning's strongest recruiting class, featuring top offensive talents like four-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson, quarterback Akili Smith Jr., running back Jordon Davison and athlete Dierre Hill. Defensively, Oregon's class includes standout athletes Dorian Brew and Brandon Finney, along with linebacker Nasir Wyatt.
