WATCH: Gilbert Arenas’ son Alijah Arenas’ 31-point performance fails to lead Chatsworth to a victory

Alijah Arenas, son of three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, was reclassified from the 2026 Class to 2025. The Chatsworth High School player will now decide on a program sooner than expected. However, he continues to impress on the court. While the Chancellors lost 77-56 against the Pilibos Eagles, Arenas' performance stood out.

On Saturday, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard scored 31 points in his team's lowest-scoring contest so far this season when they came against Anto Balian's Eagles. Famous basketball page Slam High School uploaded some highlights of Alijah Arenas as he was seen playing bully ball in the paint and also able to convert pull-up jumpers as well as shots from beyond the arc:

With this loss, Chatsworth has now lost two games in a row following their 72-51 defeat against El Camino Real on Friday. Their record is now 12-6, while Anto Balian's Pilbios move to 14-6.

In three seasons for Chatsworth, Arenas has played 78 games so far, posting averages of 31.8 points, 2.9 assists, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.1 blocks per contest. The Chatsworth, CA native has improved his offensive stats every year. As a freshman, Alijah Arenas played 27 matches and averaged 30.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.4 spg and 1.6 bpg.

Last year, he played 35 matches and averaged 33.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game. This season, the guard is scoring 31.8 points, grabbing 7.5 rebounds, dishing out 4.3 assists, stealing the ball 2.2 times, and having 0.8 blocks per game in 16 matches.

According to On3, Arenas has only taken two unofficial visits to UCLA on Feb. 2, 2024, and Arizona on Nov. 22. He has offers from top programs, including Fresno State, Arizona, UCLA, Kentucky, Kansas, Washington, Ole Miss, Butler, Xavier, and more. However, the publisher's recruitment prediction machine suggests that UCLA and Arizona have the highest chance of landing Arenas.

Alijah Arenas on reclassification

In a YouTube video uploaded by Tarek Fattal last month, Alijah Arenas talked about the reclassification, stating that he was ready for it:

"It's just exciting like I'm just kind of like ready for it," Arenas said (1:11 - 1:30). "I know what I'm expecting so I'm just here like kind of just ready to take all the hits and then just move forward and keep doing what I'm doing, is the biggest thing like for me nothing is really going to change but just going up so I know what I was expecting going up I'm not just making the uh the decision and not know what I'm doing."
