"We back": Julian Lewis gets ready for yet another season in Carrollton with his latest photoshoot donning high school jersey
Four-star quarterback Julian Lewis has already announced his commitment to USC's 2025 class. The blue-chip prospect attends Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia.
Lewis' performance in the 2023 season was absolutely phenomenal, as he threw for 3,094 yards and accounted for 48 touchdowns while only throwing two interceptions and completing 66.4% of his passes. His exceptional play led Carrollton High School to an 11-2 record, earning him a spot as a finalist for the Gatorade National Player of the Year award.
The 2024 season is approaching soon, and the 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect is set to take his game to new heights. On Tuesday, he shared a series of photos on Instagram with him holding the football and exuding determination, with the caption:
"We back."
Julian Lewis is the 2025 cycle's No. 46 overall prospect, the No. 7 quarterback in the nation and the No. 8 player in Georgia, according to On3. 247Sports places him as the No. 44 overall prospect in the class, the No. 7 quarterback in the nation and the No. 5 player in the state.
Latest update on Julian Lewis' commitment
Julian Lewis committed to USC on Aug. 22, 2023, but he seems to be rethinking his decision. According to 247Sports recruiting analyst Tom Loy, a decommitment from the Trojans is on the way. Loy believes that Indiana and Colorado have emerged as the frontrunners, with Auburn also in the mix.
The Buffaloes have shown huge interest in Lewis, as their current quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, is expected to declare for the 2025 NFL draft. The program has been linked to him for months now, but recent updates suggest the Hoosiers are now the leading contenders for the signal-caller.
“I do not expect him sticking with his pledge to the Trojans,” Loy said (per BroBible). “The teams to watch: Indiana, Colorado and, to a lesser extent, Auburn… If I had to pick between the two (Indiana and Colorado), I would give the edge to Indiana.”
Julian Lewis took an official visit to the Hoosiers in June, and his relationship with Indiana co-offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri dates back to when Lewis was just eight years old. Offensive coordinator Rod Carey and head coach Tom Allen are also trying heavily to recruit Lewis.
"I think that staff is doing a phenomenal job," Loy said. "We all know about the relationship with Tino Sunseri. I think coach Cignetti is doing a phenomenal job trying to recruit him, treating him like a priority. Like I said, right now I give the edge to Indiana over Colorado and the field.”
Indiana currently lacks a quarterback commit in its 2025 class, which includes 21 players and ranks No. 50 nationally. Julian Lewis' potential decommitment from USC will dramatically shift the recruiting momentum in favor of the Hoosiers.
