Meet Me Next Christmas is a romantic comedy film directed by Rusty Cundieff, from a screenplay by Camilla Rubis and Molly Haldeman. The film was released on Netflix on November 6, 2024.
The film is about Layla who meets James in an airport lounge and the two feel an instant connection. Although Layla is in a relationship, James tells her that if they both find themselves single during Christmas next year, they should meet at the Pentatonix concert, without having any other form of contact.
Layla meets James at the concert next year, but she finds her soulmate in her concierge Teddy, and James comes with his new partner.

Layla meets James at the Pentatonix concert in Meet Me Next Christmas
It's the most wonderful time of the year, but Layla was stuck at an airport because her flight got delayed. She meets a charming man, James, in the lounge and their vibe instantly matches. Layla introduces James to her favorite band Pentatonix, whose concert she attends every Christmas.
Before boarding his flight, James says that he feels that their meeting was perhaps more than a normal meeting and they should leave it to fate to bring them back together. Layla, who is in a committed relationship, agrees to James's proposal to meet the next Christmas at the Pentatonix concert if they both find themselves single.
Layla gets cheated on by her boyfriend three days before Christmas, so she decides to go to the concert to meet her potential soulmate, who she knows is going to be there. But the tickets are all sold out. She takes help from a company that claims to solve every problem. She is assigned a concierge Teddy, who would help her get the tickets.
After 35 adventurous hours of struggle to get the ticket, Layla reaches the concert. But by now, she had already fallen for Teddy and was looking for him, not James. She comes across James and hastily apologizes to him for breaking his heart, not knowing that James was attending the concert with his girlfriend and probably didn't remember her.
Pentatonix band helps Teddy confess his feelings to Layla in Meet Me Next Christmas
The Pentatonix band appears in Meet Me Next Christmas as a fictional version of themselves and excitedly tracks everything happening with Layla and Teddy, through Teddy's DMs on their Instagram handle.
While Teddy and Layla are going from place to place for the tickets, the band suspects that Teddy has a crush on Layla before Teddy himself understands his feelings. They become conscious of the viewers being torn between the choice of Teddy and James for Layla. But they realize that the choice has to be made by Layla herself, so they send her the tickets to the concert.
Teddy gets to the concert as Santa and the band encourages him to confess his feelings for Layla on stage. Teddy's supposed grand entry becomes a hurdle momentarily as he is afraid of heights, but he eventually comes through and confesses his feelings in front of the whole crowd.

Layla and Teddy visit Teddy's cousin who claims to have two tickets for the concert. But it turned out that to win the tickets they would have to win a lip-sync competition. The two had already developed respect and intrigue for each other in their short journey together, and while preparing for the dance, their feelings intensified and they ended up kissing in the final part of their performance.
After getting the ticket, Layla realizes that her soulmate is Teddy, not James and she rushes to meet him backstage but is stopped by a guard. She pleads with him to let her pass, but the guard is unfazed. She suddenly hears Teddy's voice, who is confessing his feelings for her on stage, and the guard advises her to rush to the main entrance.
At the main entrance, she is stopped by the gatekeeper again, but this time she rushes in, and as Teddy is getting off stage in disappointment, she makes the grand announcement of her mutual feelings for him. Meet Me Next Christmas ends with the couple embracing each other and kissing in front of the crowd, while Pentatonix sings in the background and snow falls from above.
