
The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The Oilers are situated in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference and having been in existence since 1972. They joined the NHL in 1979 after it was absorbed through the NHL-WHA merger. Since then, in their 44 NHL seasons, they have participated in 26 playoffs and made the second round of the 2023-2024 Stanley Cup Finals.
The team boasts young talent like Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Philip Broberg, Jack Campbell, Zach Hyman, and Sam Carrick. A few of its players have been instrumental in bringing notable honors like the Hart Memorial Trophy, Jack Adams Award, James Norris Memorial Trophy, King Clancy Memorial Trophy, Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, and the Lester B. Pearson Award to the team.
