"Big step off the ice": Patrik Laine is all set to tie the knot with Jordan Leigh in Summer 2025
Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine is getting ready to take a “big step off the ice.” In a recent appearance on the Jake’s Take Sports Podcast, Laine discussed several issues, including his upcoming nuptials with long-time girlfriend Jordan Leigh.
The interview got off with a congratulatory salute from the host to which Laine responded:
“Thank you. You know, it’s a big step off the ice. So, definitely excited about that and hopefully will bring some extra juice on the ice, I’m sure. So, we’re super excited.”
That “extra juice” will hopefully translate into a productive season in Montreal for Patrik Laine. In the meantime, he shared some details about his upcoming marriage:
"It’ll be next summer. So, got some time to play hockey before that."
Indeed, Patrik Laine and Jordan Leigh have been active on social media, spreading the news about their wedding. In a recent IG post, Leigh shared this touching picture:
The couple is featured in a black-and-white photo, immersed in a romantic beach setting. The photo caption reads:
“Forever with you simply isn’t enough Mr and Mrs Laine coming June 2025!!!”
The social media publications have generated plenty of excitement among friends and family as well as well-wishers and fans across the league.
Like Connor McDavid’s wedding this summer, Patrik Laine and Jordan Leigh’s wedding should garner significant media attention.
Patrik Laine excited to get back on the ice before tying the knot
Laine stated in the interview that he looks forward to playing hockey this upcoming season. The “extra juice,” as he put it, should help him put the injury woes he faced in Columbus behind him. Here’s what Laine had to say about fighting back from injury:
“Yeah, it was kind of a tough year all around last year, obviously. But it’s good for everyone to take the time they need to be the best versions of themselves.”
Habs fans hope they’re getting the best version of Laine. He would go on to discuss how some time away from the game helped him find his form again:
“That’s kind of what I did, kind of a regroup. Get away from the game for a little and then come back with excitement.”
Lastly, Laine talked about looking forward to hitting the ice in a Habs uniform:
“Going to Montreal now, that’ll be pretty exciting for all of us. So, super, super excited about that.”
Montreal fans will be super excited to see Laine and the future Mrs. Laine help the Habs emerge from its rebuild and enter the playoff conversation in the Eastern Conference.
