Brandon Montour's wife Ryiann drops 1-word reaction to husband's first career hat-trick
Seattle Kraken forward Brandon Montour had a night to remember as he netted his first career hat-trick, leading his team to an 8-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. His wife, Ryiann was quick to react on social media to her beau’s effort.
Montour netted his first on a power-play wrist shot in the second period. He followed with a quick backhand off his own rebound for his second before completing his hat-trick in the third with another power-play one-timer from the left faceoff dot.
Ryiann took to Instagram to share a post from the Seattle Kraken’s Instagram and reposted it on her stories, captioning it:

The Kraken scored four times in the first period. Jamie Oleksiak opened the scoring 25 seconds in, followed by Ryker Evans at 3:49. Jaden Schwartz and Oliver Bjorkstrand made it 4-0.
Cole Caufield put Montreal on the board at 16:11 of the first period. Montour responded with a power play goal at 1:32 of the second. He scored again at 8:44, before completing his hat-trick with another power play goal at 14:12 of the third.
Eeli Tolvanen scored Seattle's eighth goal, while Josh Anderson netted the last for Montreal. Joey Daccord made 28 saves for the Kraken, who ended a three-game winless streak. Canadiens goalie Sam Montembeault was pulled after allowing five goals on 10 shots.
Brandon Montour believes his team is capable of performing better
In the post-game presser, Brandon Montour mentioned what helped build their momentum. He also pointed out the importance of maintaining a high energy level throughout the game.
“I think we came out hot. Obviously, it's nice to get one early, get a few early. And then I think we just kept rolling. I think the energy level was good,” he said.
With this win, the Kraken are 5-4-1 this season. While Montour recognized that they played well, he believes the team should have avoided the previous losses in the season and that they are capable of performing much better.
Brandon Montour admitted that they were on a challenging road trip but praised his teammates for bringing the energy needed to secure the win. The star of the night mentioned that the victory was important for the team's confidence.
