Buffalo Sabres fans incensed after 13th straight loss - "Answer still in the room?", "Will we ever win this season"
The Buffalo Sabres suffered another tough loss on Saturday at TD Garden against the Boston Bruins, extending their winless streak to 13 games – their fifth loss this week. Earlier in the week, the Sabres had hoped to end their 10-game winless streak against the Montreal Canadians, who were the worst team in the Atlantic division at that time, but instead fell 6-1.
Since then, the Buffalo Sabres' week has only spiraled downhill, with losses piling on. Now, after another disheartening 3-1 loss to the Bruins, disappointed fans are venting their frustration on X, sharply criticizing management left right center.
"HOW ARE YALL THIS BAD", a fan said.
"13 losses in a row, just like our playoff drought of 13 years. Kinda poetic if you think about it!", another fan said.
"Will we ever win again this season", a fan said.
Many fans have specifically targeted and criticized Buffalo Sabres' owner, billionaire Terry Pregula, who following the team's 10th straight loss to the Washington Capitals traveled to Montreal to address the team.
However, instead of making tough decisions or holding General Manager Kevyn Adams or coach Lindy Ruff accountable as fans anticipated, Pegula opted to reassure them by saying, "We believe in you", and expressed confidence that "the solution is within the room", and told players not to expect any major trade.
Here are some additional reactions from X:
"Don't disappoint me, boys. I know you got 14 in you. Remember, the solution is in the room!" one fan said.
"13 and counting. The answer still in the room?" another fan said.
"But Terry said the answer is in the room ?" another fan said.
Boston Bruins' Coyle and Geekie Score in 3-1 Win Over Buffalo Sabres
